Looking Towards the Holiday Season
October 9, 2008
The weather has started to cool here in the Midwest. Fall colors are starting to cloak the shrubs and trees. This change is one I always enjoy even if it’s short. Once the glory of Fall is past, we have the holiday season ahead of us. Thanksgiving is, perhaps, my favorite holiday. It is all about family and what we have to give each other. In these uncertain economic times, this gives us all even more comfort than ever.
The First Taste of Fall
August 29, 2008
The weather has cooled here and it’s beginning to feel just a bit like fall. Very cool mornings lead to warm afternoons where the highs reach lower 80’s. It’s pretty much perfect and should be enjoyed while possible. Already I see birds in the area beginning to flock – this seems to occur at the end of August every year.
Soon the first of the fall colors will begin to emerge and we’ll get one last glorious shot of color before it’s gone until Spring. I am reminded of how fleeting it all can be. “Carpe Diem”
